Thieves Steal Nvidia-Branded Containers Hoping for AI Chips, Find 40,000 Pounds of Sand

Thieves in California stole two shipping containers marked with Nvidia and PlusAI logos, expecting to find high-value AI hardware. Upon breaking the locks, they discovered 40,000 pounds of sand used by PlusAI for weight-testing autonomous trucking systems. No arrests have been made, and the containers were returned to the company. Industry reports indicate that while the total number of supply chain thefts has decreased, the average value of stolen goods has surged, as criminals increasingly target high-value tech equipment and mining hardware.
