Generative AI User Base in China Surpasses 700 Million

According to the Generative AI Application Development Report (2026) released by the China Internet Network Information Center, the number of generative AI users in China exceeded 700 million by the first half of 2026, marking a penetration rate of over 50%. Intelligent Q&A remains the primary use case, while AI-powered office efficiency and assistant applications saw usage growth exceeding 100% year-on-year. The report also highlights that China's intelligent computing power reached 2,185 EFLOPS, and the country saw 1,255 AI-related investment deals totaling approximately 37.3 billion dollars in the first half of 2026.
