Solana: Skip Rate Stable After Cutting Slot Time to 250ms, Caution Still Needed for 200ms

Solana said on its site that it has gradually reduced target slot time from 400ms to 250ms, with skip rates staying stable and low, and stall time from consecutive skipped slots falling from over 1,800ms to about 1,200-1,400ms. Shorter slot times increased vote latency, most notably for nodes in Asia and South America. Average network vote latency is now under two slots with no signs of consensus instability, but cutting further to 200ms before Alpenglow still requires caution.
