Modveon has launched Sivar, a community and payment application for El Salvador, integrated with Coinbase payment infrastructure to facilitate low-cost remittances between the U.S. and El Salvador. The app features a non-custodial wallet and utilizes Coinbase Onramp for debit card deposits. Transfers between verified users are powered by the Coinbase API, with settlements occurring on the Base chain using stablecoins. U.S. users are charged a flat fee of $2 per transaction for transfers to verified recipients in El Salvador, who can withdraw funds at over 1,000 local physical locations.
