Former Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy Eric Saavedra was sentenced to 21 months in prison for using law enforcement databases to assist a crypto merchant in an extortion scheme. Additionally, he was ordered to pay $90,984 in restitution for concealing $373,146 in income from the IRS.
