Former LA Sheriff’s Deputy Sentenced for Aiding Crypto Figure Adam Iza

Eric Saavedra, a former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy, was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for conspiracy against rights and tax fraud. Saavedra misused his law enforcement credentials to access private information and intimidate individuals on behalf of Adam Iza, a self-proclaimed 'Crypto Godfather' currently serving a 15-year sentence for kidnapping and a Bitcoin robbery. Saavedra was ordered to pay approximately $91,000 in restitution to the IRS.
