European Central Bank Launches Digital Euro Innovation Platform

The European Central Bank (ECB) has opened applications for its Digital Euro Innovation Platform, inviting fintech and payment firms to explore AI-driven payment solutions. The initiative includes an experimental phase from January to June 2027, focusing on prototypes for electronic receipts and conditional payments. Additionally, 36 financial institutions, including Revolut, Stripe, and Deutsche Bank, will participate in a 12-month pilot program starting in the second half of 2027.
