Solana Urges Caution on Cutting Slot Time to 200ms Before Alpenglow Launch

Solana said on X that it has gradually reduced target slot time from 400ms to 250ms while skip rates stayed stable and downtime from consecutive skipped slots shortened. However, shorter slot times increased vote latency, especially for nodes in Asia and South America, so further cutting to 200ms before the Alpenglow launch still requires caution.
