Crypto Industry PAC Spends $11.4M to Oppose Sherrod Brown's Return to Senate

Defend American Jobs, a crypto-industry-aligned PAC, disclosed to the FEC that it spent $11.4 million on ads supporting Republican Jon Husted and opposing Democrat Sherrod Brown in Ohio's Senate race. The PAC is affiliated with Fairshake, backed by Coinbase and Ripple Labs, part of its pledged $30 million to block Brown, a former Senate Banking Committee chair critical of crypto legislation. In 2024, crypto-aligned PACs spent about $41 million against Brown, who lost to Bernie Moreno. Husted's seat, appointed by Gov. Mike DeWine, replaces JD Vance, who became vice president in 2024.
