Zcash Privacy Transaction Speed Boosted to 200 Milliseconds
The Zcash development team, Zakura, has released an open-source cryptographic library, Zakura Common, which significantly accelerates zero-knowledge proof generation. The update reduces privacy transaction latency from over 3 seconds to under 200 milliseconds without requiring a network upgrade. The library improves mobile performance by 14x and desktop by 5x, with Sinsemilla hashing and zk-SNARK verification also seeing substantial speed gains. This initiative is part of the Tachyon scaling project, and ZEC rose approximately 5% following the announcement.
