Crypto projects have spent approximately $640 million on token buybacks this year, mirroring traditional stock market strategies to boost prices during market downturns. According to Allium Labs, this figure marks a significant increase from $545 million during the same period last year and a sharp rise from the $366,000 recorded throughout 2024. Hyperliquid and pump.fun account for nearly 90% of the total buyback volume.
