Japan's FSA Requests Budget Increase for Crypto Oversight and AI Risk Management
The Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan has requested a budget of 40.3 billion yen for the 2027 fiscal year, an increase of 13.4 billion yen from the previous year. The proposal includes the establishment of a new office dedicated to monitoring cryptocurrency exchanges and addressing risks associated with frontier AI, alongside a request for 14 additional staff members.
