SK Hynix is evaluating the feasibility of establishing a joint venture in Japan to manufacture memory chips, a move aimed at meeting the surging demand for artificial intelligence while managing production costs. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won stated during a meeting in Sendai that the company is scouting locations across Japan with sufficient power and water resources. While Chey confirmed that multiple sites are under consideration, he declined to disclose specific partners or locations for the potential facility.
