NEAR Intents Identifies Hacker Behind $3.8 Million Exploit, Offers 48-Hour Ultimatum
NEAR Intents has identified the attacker responsible for a $3.8 million exploit and issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the return of funds in exchange for a responsible disclosure bounty. The breach, which stemmed from a bug between Omni's deposit-withdrawal infrastructure and NEAR Intents' smart contracts, led to the theft of user assets. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT tracked the stolen funds to KuCoin, where they were bridged and converted into Bitcoin. NEAR Intents has committed to fully compensating all affected users and provided specific wallet addresses for the return of BTC, BNB, and SOL.
