Fed Governor Waller: AI Agents Account for Half of FRED Traffic

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller stated that AI agents now represent approximately half of the traffic to the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database. To accommodate this, FRED has launched an MCP Connector, allowing users to access economic data via AI agents. Development is ongoing to improve AI capabilities in interpreting economic data.
