A 30-year-old Myanmar national in Singapore has been charged with spreading false information and obstructing justice after using AI to generate a fake image of a crocodile in Pandan Reservoir. The image, reported on August 20, caused the Public Utilities Board (PUB) to suspend water activities for two days and launch a search operation. The man faces up to three years in prison for spreading false information and up to seven years for obstructing justice, as he deleted the image and his Gemini AI app history to conceal his actions. He intends to plead guilty, with the next court hearing scheduled for November 10.
