El Salvador Launches Sivar Stablecoin Remittance App Using Base

The government of El Salvador and technology firm Modveon officially launched the nationwide remittance platform 'Sivar' on September 29. The platform facilitates transfers between El Salvador and the United States using stablecoins on the Base blockchain. Coinbase is acting as a strategic partner for the initiative to reduce costs and increase transaction speeds.
