Community Concerns Mount Over Abstract Chain Amid Founder and Developer Activity

The Ethereum L2 network Abstract, developed by Igloo Inc. (parent company of Pudgy Penguins), is facing community scrutiny. Pudgy Penguins founder Luca Netz removed the Abstract identifier from his X profile, while community members reported that wallets linked to core developer Cygaar are moving funds out of the chain. Cygaar has been inactive on X since June 2026. Following the departures of ecosystem lead Mason and product lead 0xBeans in August, the official Abstract X account has seen reduced activity, raising concerns about the project's future. Abstract has not yet responded to these reports.
