MetaMask Withdraws Lido Validators Amid Security Investigation

MetaMask has initiated a precautionary withdrawal of its non-custodial staking validators from the Lido protocol following the detection of an internal security threat. While MetaMask stated there is no immediate risk to wallet users, the exit process is expected to take approximately 45 days, during which the affected ETH will not earn staking rewards and may be subject to downtime penalties. Lido confirmed that the withdrawal process for the affected validators is scheduled to conclude by October 7.
