Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox confirmed the distribution of over $8 million in retroactive grants to contributors, including those who addressed AI vulnerabilities. The initiative highlights Zcash's self-governance and self-funding capabilities. Future grants are planned to occur multiple times per year. The implementation of these mechanisms involved collaboration with groups including Valar, ZODL, Vizor, and the Financial Privacy Foundation, alongside an anonymous vote by holders of approximately $3 billion in ZEC.
