MetaMask Staking Exits Lido Validators Following Security Incident

Lido announced on October 1, 2026, that MetaMask Staking is exiting its Ethereum validators from the Lido protocol as a precautionary measure following an infrastructure security incident. The exit process is expected to take up to 45 days for full withdrawal and re-entry. Lido stated that stETH holders do not need to take action, and the protocol's diversified node operators and reserves are in place to mitigate potential impacts.
