Petrobras and Cardano Foundation Launch Renewable Fuel Tracking on Cardano

Petrobras and the Cardano Foundation have developed two blockchain applications to track environmental attributes of renewable fuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and Diesel R. Announced on September 30, 2026, the project aims to improve traceability by registering environmental certificates as tokens on the Cardano network. The SAF application utilizes a book-and-claim model to assign environmental benefits to airlines or passengers, while the Diesel R project records digital logs throughout the fuel's production, transport, and usage cycles.
