Petrobras Utilizes Cardano to Track Sustainable Fuel Data

Brazilian state-owned oil company Petrobras has developed two applications on the Cardano blockchain to track sustainability data for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel (Diesel R). The project, a collaboration with PUC-Rio's Ledger Labs, uses a book-and-claim model to tokenize environmental attributes for SAF and digital checkpoints for renewable diesel to support Scope 3 emission reporting. No timeline for large-scale deployment has been disclosed.
