D'CENT Wallet Security Breach Leads to $18.7 Million XRP Theft

Between September 15 and September 20, attackers drained 11.75 million XRP, valued at approximately 18.7 million dollars, from 6,678 wallets associated with the South Korean hardware wallet manufacturer D'CENT. The attackers exploited the XRP Ledger's 'AccountDelete' instruction to empty accounts, including their reserve balances. Stolen funds were traced to THORChain, Ethereum, Binance, NEAR Intents, and unionchain.ai. D'CENT has advised affected users to migrate to new seed phrases.
