Brazil Surpasses US in Grassroots Crypto Adoption Amid 2026 Market Downturn

According to the 2026 Chainalysis index, Brazil has become the leading nation for grassroots crypto adoption, overtaking the US during a period where global crypto market value declined by approximately half. Brazil's crypto economy recorded $252.5 billion in activity for the 12 months ending June 30, while global on-chain activity saw a minor decrease of 1.6% despite a $2.1 trillion drop in total market capitalization.
