Bitwise Report: 10 Emerging Trends in Institutional Crypto Investment

A new report from Bitwise reveals that institutional investors are increasingly integrating crypto assets into their portfolios, despite market volatility. Based on interviews with 15 major global institutions, the study highlights that Bitcoin is widely viewed as a high-conviction store of value, often compared to gold. In contrast, Ethereum and Solana are treated as speculative technology bets with shorter time horizons. Notably, none of the surveyed institutions reduced their crypto allocations during the 50% market correction between October 2025 and April 2026, indicating a long-term commitment. The primary barriers to further adoption remain internal governance, board approval processes, and reputational concerns rather than doubts about investment value.
