Revolut Launches Facial Recognition Payment System in the UK

Digital bank Revolut has introduced "Pay with Smile," a facial recognition checkout system, in the UK. The feature, which runs on Revolut Register terminals, allows customers to authenticate payments by scanning their faces. The system uses end-to-end encryption, and merchants do not store personal data. Revolut is charging zero processing fees for these transactions to support independent merchants. A pilot program is currently running at three Kiss the Hippo coffee shops in London, with plans to expand to all 12 locations later this year.
