Zcash Rallies Following Governance Vote on Network Future

ZEC prices rose following the results of a governance vote regarding the upcoming NU7 network upgrade. Participants voted 98.9% in favor of retaining the halving mechanism rather than smoothing token issuance. Approximately 2.4 million ZEC participated in the vote, representing 66% of eligible tokens. The community also supported transitioning to 25-second blocks and disabling the legacy Sprout shielded pool, with a majority favoring February 2031 for the start of fee recycling to miners.
