The U.S. Department of the Treasury has imposed sanctions on the Iranian crypto exchange BitBank, accusing it of transferring hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The U.S. authorities clarified that this entity is unrelated to the Japanese exchange of the same name.
