Malicious Uniswap v4 hooks are baiting DeFi traders with fake swap quotes

Liquidity aggregator 0x reported on September 14 that malicious Uniswap v4 hooks are increasingly deceiving traders by providing attractive price quotes that settle at significantly worse rates. Analysis of over 84,000 hooks revealed that 54.2% were malicious, with some routes delivering up to 50% less than the quoted amount. Uniswap v4 hooks are optional external contracts that can execute before or after swaps, and while they enable features like dynamic fees, they also introduce risks if third-party code is malicious.
