Ethereum and Base Diverge on Account Abstraction Standards

Ethereum and Base have ceased efforts to develop a unified account-abstraction standard, opting instead to pursue separate designs. The split follows failed negotiations to reconcile Base's EIP-8130 with Ethereum's EIP-8141, as both sides were unwilling to compromise on their respective priorities of censorship resistance versus scalability. Wallet providers will now face the challenge of supporting both formats to maintain cross-chain compatibility.
