Zcash Community Votes to Accelerate Transactions and Retain Halving

Zcash holders have voted overwhelmingly in favor of the upcoming NU7 network upgrade. Nearly 2.4 million ZEC participated in the governance vote, with 99.9% supporting a reduction in block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, and 98.9% voting to maintain the Bitcoin-style halving mechanism. Additionally, 96.6% of participants supported delaying the re-issuance of fees from the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM) until February 2031. The results are not binding, and the proposed features still require implementation and testing.
