Latin American telecom operator VIVA launches Avalanche-based network Iris

VIVA has become the first telecom operator to launch Iris, an Avalanche-based settlement network designed to integrate identity, billing, and distribution systems with financial services. The network uses USDi, a stablecoin issued by Agora, for settlement. Iris operates on a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1 and has secured $43 million in funding from Balesia Group. The platform aims to expand into African and Asian markets following its initial focus on Latin America.
