Ethereum and Base May Adopt Different Standards for Account Abstraction

Derek Chiang, a member of the Ethereum research and development group Ethlabs, reported on X that Ethereum and the Layer 2 network Base may adopt different standards for implementing account abstraction (AA). While both parties agree on the core objectives of AA, such as gas fee sponsorship and passkey wallet integration, the potential for fragmentation in implementation standards has been noted.
