CoinEx to Shut Down Operations After Nine Years

Crypto exchange CoinEx announced it will cease operations on December 22, 2026, citing a prolonged market downturn, declining trading volumes, and rising compliance costs. The exchange has stopped new registrations and certain services as of September 15, with spot trading scheduled to end on September 29. CoinEx stated that user assets are fully backed and withdrawal channels will remain open until the December deadline. Founder Haipo Yang noted that he chose to wind down the platform rather than sell it, citing security and compliance risks. The exchange will repurchase CET tokens at their initial listing price of 0.005 USDT.
