Dutch woman arrested for attempted dark web murder-for-hire scam

A 45-year-old woman was arrested in Rotterdam on September 11 in connection with a dark web murder-for-hire plot targeting a local business owner. The suspect paid approximately $1,400 in Bitcoin to a site that turned out to be a scam, as no actual hitman was involved. Dutch police noted that between 2016 and 2022, at least seven such cases targeting Dutch citizens were identified, none of which were executed.
