New Colombian President vows to combat tax evasion and illicit cryptocurrency use

Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella, who took office on August 7, announced plans to tackle corruption, drug trafficking, smuggling, and illegal mining. Alongside the director of the National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN), Andrés Felipe Velásquez Reyes, the president pledged to crack down on tax evasion and the illicit use of cryptocurrencies.
