Former DeepMind researcher warns AI could potentially kill all of humanity

Bilal Chughtai, an AI researcher who recently resigned from Google DeepMind, stated on X and LinkedIn that humanity is running out of time to prevent widespread harm from artificial intelligence. Chughtai, who worked on AI safety and alignment at the Alphabet subsidiary, expressed extreme concern regarding the default trajectory of the technology, stating he sincerely believes AI could potentially kill everyone. Google has not yet responded to requests for comment.
