CoinEx founder announces exchange closure by December 2026

CoinEx founder Yang Haipo announced that the exchange will officially cease operations on December 22, 2026, nine years after its launch. Yang cited the increasing difficulty of managing security and compliance risks, stating that operating under limited revenue with unlimited liability is no longer rational. The exchange will repurchase CET tokens at their initial listing price of 0.005 USDT with no quantity limit. Yang rejected offers to sell the platform, stating that a clean exit is the only responsible way to honor the trust placed in him by users and employees.
