Moonshot AI Files Police Reports Amid Allegations of Unauthorized Claude API Usage

Eight weeks after the launch of its Kimi K3 AI model, Moonshot AI is filing police reports following server capacity issues and accusations from Anthropic. Anthropic claims that Moonshot secretly routed nearly 300,000 user queries to Claude via fake accounts to present the responses as its own work, including sensitive security footage analysis. Moonshot has since introduced a smaller model, K2.8 Preview, while reports circulate regarding the status of its founder.
