Chainflip TRON USDT integration suffers exploit, network recovery expected Monday

Cross-chain protocol Chainflip reported an exploit on its TRON USDT integration on September 13. The attacker exploited a vulnerability in the TRON transaction memo processing mechanism to trigger duplicate payments. Over approximately 90 minutes, eight attacks resulted in six unauthorized payments totaling 736,442 USDT. An additional user swap of 115,654 USDT remains pending, though the funds are secure in the vault. Chainflip confirmed that other funds are unaffected and plans to compensate affected users. A fix has been identified, with network operations expected to resume as early as Monday.
