Symbiosis Bitcoin Bridge Hacked, BTC Routing Suspended

Cross-chain liquidity protocol Symbiosis reported a security breach on its Bitcoin bridge around 04:28 UTC on September 11, 2026. The team has suspended BTC routing while other components, including EVM chains, TRON, and TON, remain operational. Approximately 15 BTC have been recovered and secured in a multisig wallet. The protocol has offered a 20% white-hat bounty to the attacker until September 13, 2026, after which the same reward will be offered to those who assist in recovering the remaining funds. Compensation plans for affected liquidity providers are currently being developed.
