Former Alameda CEO Caroline Ellison Joins Non-Profit Manifund

Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of Alameda Research, has joined the non-profit organization Manifund. According to co-founder Austin Chen, Ellison began a trial period in July and transitioned to a full-time role in August, focusing on developing the organization's donation platform and charitable initiatives. Ellison previously pleaded guilty to fraud and conspiracy charges related to the 2022 collapse of the FTX exchange and served a prison sentence before being released in January 2026. Manifund, which focuses on AI safety and effective altruism, stated that it believes in redemption and is evaluating Ellison based on her current contributions.
