According to The Telegraph, this is the largest single political donation in UK history. Delo stated that the funds are intended to support the party's preparations for the 2029 parliamentary elections and to provide financial stability. The donation, which follows an earlier £8 million contribution in 2026, is structured as a lump sum to mitigate risks of potential future legislative restrictions on political funding by the Labour government. Delo emphasized the need for well-funded policy development and encouraged other wealthy supporters to back the party despite potential public scrutiny.
