Vitalik Proposes Recursive STARK Mempool to Reduce Costs for Quantum-Safe Signatures and Privacy Transactions

Vitalik Buterin proposed incorporating the recursive STARK mempool proposal EIP-8288 into the Ethereum I-star upgrade. The proposal aims to move quantum-safe signature data off-chain to lower costs and reduce gas fees for quantum-safe privacy transactions from approximately 10 million to tens of thousands. The mechanism relies on frames and recursive STARKs to aggregate transaction dependencies, requiring nodes to send a 100-300KB STARK per time cycle with minimal on-chain overhead.
