Consensys and MetaMask to Operate as Independent Entities

Consensys Software Inc. (CSI) is separating its consumer and institutional divisions into two independent companies by the end of 2026. The entity operating the MetaMask wallet will rebrand as MetaMask, led by Joe Lubin as Chairman and CEO, focusing on retail products and Ethereum-based self-custody solutions. A separate company, to be named Consensys and led by Mike Kriak, will focus on institutional infrastructure, protocols, and enterprise blockchain applications.
