CMC report: RWA perpetual futures volume hits record $799.5 billion in August

A CoinMarketCap report indicates that cumulative trading volume for RWA perpetual futures across 19 platforms reached $3.16 trillion between December 2025 and August 2026. August alone saw a record $799.5 billion in volume. The market has shifted from commodity-led to equity-led, with stock-based contracts rising to 62.3% of the total. Memory chip stocks like SK Hynix, Micron, and SanDisk (SNDK) were key drivers, with SanDisk becoming the third-largest trading asset in history. Binance leads the market with a 50.4% share, followed by Hyperliquid and OKX.
