Algorand Appoints Former Chainlink Executive William Herkelrath as New CEO

The Algorand Foundation has appointed William Herkelrath as its new CEO, succeeding Staci Warden, who served for nearly five years. Herkelrath, a former executive at Chainlink and Curv, and co-founder of K3 Labs, officially assumed the role on August 31. His leadership will focus on institutional expansion and post-quantum security initiatives. Algorand has already introduced post-quantum accounts using the Falcon-1024 lattice-based signature system in its v42 consensus upgrade and aims for full quantum resistance by 2028.
