Douyin tests AI Workshop to integrate AI applications into recommendation feed

Douyin (TikTok China) is beta-testing 'AI Workshop,' a platform enabling creators and developers to build, debug, and distribute AI applications directly within the app. The platform provides built-in development frameworks, APIs, and cloud storage. New 'interest cards' in the recommendation feed allow users to interact with these AI tools—such as Q&A, games, or lightweight utilities—without leaving the main app. Creators can build apps using natural language or advanced coding, and the feature is currently in an invite-only testing phase.
