CXMT HBM3 Trial Yields Stagnate at 25%

According to The Chosun Ilbo, ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) (长鑫存储) has begun trial production of its fourth-generation HBM3, with initial yields stagnating at 25%. This is roughly one-third of the 80% yield typically required for mass production. In comparison, SK Hynix (SK海力士) has maintained yields exceeding 90% for similar products since 2022. CXMT's 8-layer stacked HBM3 product currently sees a 30% yield in front-end processes, resulting in a final yield of approximately 70% after back-end processing.
